Rhonda J. Moniz is an ocean explorer, underwater forensics specialist, and recognized authority on diving technologies, ROVs, and AUVs. With over 25 years of experience, she has led and participated in deep-sea expeditions around the world, including missions with Dr. Robert Ballard, where she became his first female ROV pilot, exploring ancient shipwrecks and undersea geology at depths exceeding 4,000 meters.

As CEO of RJM Consulting and President of the Underwater Investigative Group (UIG), Rhonda leads high-profile subsea investigations and training programs for the U.S. military, emergency responders, and scientific organizations. Her expertise bridges technical innovation and communication, spanning underwater forensics, marine technology marketing, and blue economy strategy.

A journalist, filmmaker, and podcast host, Rhonda has served as a subject matter expert for CBS, CNN, Discovery, and Netflix, including coverage of the 2023 Titan submersible tragedy. She has written extensively on marine science and technology, produced multiple documentaries, and remains a leading voice in the field of ocean exploration.

Rhonda currently serves on multiple boards, including as President of the Board for NERACOOS and sits on the U.S. IOOS Advisory Committee, advancing coastal observation and ocean data initiatives across the region.
