Our mission is to provide access to frontier technologies for entrepreneurial and social impact, through education and skill creation, economic empowerment and corporate engagement.

Our Story

At New Bedford Research and Robotics (NBRR), we create opportunity and channel innovation, using an inclusive collaborative model. We believe the key to growth, belonging and economic empowerment is in cultivating an ecosystem where people with diverse experiences and overlapping interests can ideate, innovate and succeed. 

We’re a non-profit with over a decade of experience, and we’ve taken what we’ve learned about technology, creativity and community to New Bedford and the Southcoast region of Massachusetts. We chose New Bedford to be our headquarters, because of its abundance of local talent; its engaged community, and the city’s rich cultural and industrial history. 

At our Purchase Street campus you’ll find entrepreneurs, businesses, students, researchers, creatives and community members intersecting and collaborating. And we know from experience that when people share knowledge, talent, and see a future where they can participate, extraordinary impact is possible.
