Who we are

New Bedford Research & Robotics (NBRR) is a non-profit laboratory and ecosystem founded in 2021 in New Bedford Massachusetts, a city rich in culture and history, our headquarters is on “Innovation Avenue” and is adjacent to the city’s industrial corridor, its working seaport, the interstate and the train to Boston.

NBRR is dedicated to democratizing access to frontier technologies like Artificial Intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and marine robotics. Serving as both a hardware startup incubator and a bluetech accelerator, the organization drives regional economic growth by providing entrepreneurs with necessary industry-grade tools and connecting university research with commercial R&D to launch high-value businesses.

Beyond its economic and technical impact, NBRR actively builds a future-ready workforce through comprehensive educational initiatives. These include hands-on training for high-wage jobs in robotics and manufacturing, a trademarked STEA³M curriculum designed to guide youth toward technical careers, and internship programs that offer students professional mentorship and experience as research assistants.
